Fridays go by quickly.

Friday May 10
School was good. Only one weeping incident in France class. Sharon wept. Sally and Sharon were having some sort of disagreement about a cheap plastic heart. So I took it away. I then gave the class a lecture about playing nicely with each other, and how you ask before you take something etc. After a minute of heavy weeping, I think Sharon understood that I was not having it, and then she sat quietly. Rob told me that if you start to ignore the weeping, it stops. All of the girls in the class have a habit of taking something 'cute' if it is just left on someones desk. Whether it is a cheap plastic heart, a cut out of a princess, jewelry, a hair clip... I do not think any of it is malicious  I think it is girls that just like to see pretty things and are not yet familiar with the idea that you cannot just take something. My France class is all (or is it are all) students where this is there first real time away from home... so they do not necessarily know how to interact with others.
I have been hungry all day. Just a hunger that would not go away. Today for lunch we had spaghetti with a clam (seafood) chowder. Delicious. The way I am going to describe it will not do it justice. It actually may make it sound gross. Oh well. The chowder tasted like a mix between white gravy (as used for biscuits and gravy- especially the kind you get from mcdonalds) and seafood soup. So hard to describe. But I loved it and the kids loved it. I ate a lot of it. I was still really hungry. After my next class, Rob and Sarah and I went to Paris Baguette and I got even more food.
The other classes went okay... So now just go along with me. Over the last 2 days I have been watching Wreck It Ralph. Hands down one of my favorite movies. So, as I was watching it, I think I am starting to form the relationship between Ralph and Vanellope with me and Chloe in my afternoon Canada class. Today in class we did speakers corner, where I get the students to get up and speak. Chloe was the last one to go (we were doing popcorn as I spoke about in my last entry). The topic was favorite toy. She actually brought it. It was a stuffed rabbit. So adorable. Just the way she interacts in class... I can see her being more of a Vanellope character.
It is funny how I see a lot of my self in different students. I see traits that I see in myself. I see traits that I did not like. I see what I wanted to be, but I also see what I probably sometimes was. The students that I see more as myself, I view differently. I almost want to say I connect with them on a different level, though I am not sure how true that is. I know I see them of a different level, and I understand them on a different level, but there connection to me might be no different than it is to any of the other teachers
After dinner I went with Sarah to Emart. I almost bought some stuff but ended up buying nothing. Probably for the best. I want to get a folding camp table and several stools. Playing board games sucks sitting on the floor. I think having a table and chairs would be great. Also, just having a table in my apartment would be great. There is a set for 70000 that has the table and 4 stools. It all folds up together.... seriously am thinking of getting it. I could definitely use the table in my apartment, and the portability is not a bad deal either. I also was close to buying a TV that I can plug into my laptop. It was about the same price as craigslist TV sets. I would love to have one where I can lay in bed and watch movies at night instead of having to sit by my computer. I also almost bought a pet. emart has snails in a cage for 10000. Do I need a snail? no. Are snails entertaining to watch? no. Would having a snail bring a lot of satisfaction to my life? who knows.  It would be interesting and unique. But I did not get one this time. I may sometime.
We had 돈까스 (don katsu) for dinner from the 부대찌개 (Budae Jjigae) place near by. Its name is King Kong. I know I have talked about the 부대찌개 before but I do not think I had the name of the restaurant. Don Katsu is a fried pork cutlet. It was pretty good from King Kong, but nowhere near the best I have had. But it was only 7000 and was moderately filling (might have been more filling if I had not had an incredible hunger all day. So I can definitely see myself getting it again.
Came home and finished Wreck it Ralph. Typed, and will be hitting the bed soon. Maybe tomorrow I will get a picture entry going!
I did not go out tonight. I am just keeping it a nice evening in. I think I have said before, but sometimes I feel so lame staying home- though sometimes it just feels so good. It is an internal conflict that always goes.
