April 10th, Wednesday
It is only 8pm and I already really want to go to bed. I am not going to, because I know if I do, it wouldnt work out well for me. I would probably wake up around midnight and would not be able to get to sleep for several hours. The chances of me sleeping all night are very small. I dont know what it is about this week. I really dont feel sick anymore (save the allergy feeling occasionally). I just hit a wall after lunch and my energy sinks.
School was good today. It was a science day, so I did science with my kindy kids. They love it... but it the 'experiments' require kids to pay attention and follow instructions. The 7-1s were pretty bad, cause they cant understand me. My other 2 classes, the students thought they knew what they were supposed to do, so they end up working ahead and messing up. Teacher helppa me is all I hear. They continue to repeat it even if you acknowledge them.
My afternoon classes went okay. Nothing big, nothing small. This morning, Ronnie gave me two speeches to check their grammar. They were for his kids. It was extremely difficult for me to do. These are speeches for a 5th grader and a 3rd grader. So, some of the things the kids had in the speech is correct with what kids are taught in school, but incorrect in actual daily use (I notice this even looking through the books we teach). English is a messed up language and the rules are never rules and the grammar is always messed up. After I was done, I cleaned up my desk areal a little bit. It amazes me how quickly things accumulate on my desk.
I walked home and stopped by a lunch box place. I tried ordering in Korean... I succeeded and failed. I got part of what I wanted, but not all of it. Though even though my ordering was not a success, it also was not a failure. But what I did order was less than 2 bucks and was almost enough food to be considered filling. If I would have gotten a double order, I would be feeling good. (So the place in the front of the store had faux prepared dishes, so I could see what one I wanted. The dishes did not have numbers, only names. So the one I brought home was almost like what I saw, but about half as large and a was missing a few things)
Rob is lending me "the pink book" which is the book to learn Korean that all of the English teachers over here say is the best. I will start studying soon, and hopefully I will be able to order the dinner I want correctly instead of a surprise.
The cherry blossom trees are going to be blooming really soon. One by my apartment already has. There are buds forming on all of the other ones... I am pretty excited! Everyone says they are beautiful!
I might watch netflix for a while then still try to go to bed earlier.
